Fundraising for Southampton Hospital’s Stroke Unit

Sadly, our Finance Director Trevor passed away suddenly in September 2022 after having a stroke. Trevor spent some time in Southampton hospital before he died, and we wanted to do something in his memory. We decided to start raising money for the Stroke Unit at Southampton Hospital to show our appreciation for everything they do!

During 2023, we started raising money for the Stroke Unit at Southampton Hospital and last year we did: a summer raffle which had 6 hampers to give away , a sponsored walk and a bake off with winners from each branch Chichester, Horndean and haslemere that helped raise part of the final amount that we raised to donate to the Stroke Unit at Southampton Hospital.

Over the Christmas period, we had our Christmas raffle to raise further funds to add to the final donation. The raffle had over 100 raffle prizes such as: an overnight stay at the Old Thorns in Liphook and dinner for two at the Coppa Club in Haslemere . The shops in Chichester, Horndean, Grayshott and Haslemere donated so many raffle prizes as well as buying hundreds of raffle tickets. We owe them a big thank you as well as to the general public, carers, clients and office staff who bought many raffle tickets as well.

The final amount we raised for the Stoke Unit at Southampton Hospital was £2041.27 which we were thrilled to be able to donate to Southampton Hospital.

A quote from Southampton Hospital:-

“Thank you so much to In Home Care for fundraising for our Stroke Unit at University Hospital Southampton. We know that there was an extraordinary amount of hard work and commitment from the whole team to ensure all the fundraising activities took place and I know this was because of a personal connection to the Unit so thank you again. We are extremely grateful, and I know our colleagues on the Stroke Unit will be absolutely thrilled.” Kate Saltrick, Head of Fundraising, Southampton Hospitals Charity
