Our Carer Beatrice is with Amber, who is 21 years old and enjoys the company of her carers. Amber loves chatting with Beatrice while having her hair washed and combed and enjoys talking about flowers and what she has been doing during the week.
Amber’s family is supportive and often present during these moments. Amber has a passion for flowers and enjoys discussing the photos she’s taken and sharing stories about her week. It’s important to nurture clients’ passions and hobbies because it enhances their quality of life and overall well-being and creates a positive and supportive environment.
This lovely couple have been happily married for over 60 years and our carers were sitting with them in the garden together and having a good time whilst the wife was gardening (with some help from the carers.)
Gardening with clients improves their quality of life by keeping them physically and mentally active, while also bringing them joy, a sense of accomplishment, and social interaction.
Meet our office dog, Fabio! He’s not just a furry friend to us here at the office, but he also makes regular visits to our clients’ homes. Fabio has a special talent for spreading joy and lifting spirits. Our clients absolutely love seeing him, and his visits never fail to cheer them up.
There’s something truly magical about the way animals can brighten someone’s day, and Fabio is a shining example of this. Whether he’s offering a wagging tail, a friendly nuzzle, or just his calming presence, he brings happiness and comfort wherever he goes. We feel incredibly fortunate to have Fabio as part of our team, helping to make our clients’ days a little brighter and their hearts a little lighter.
On a recent sunny day, one of our clients and his carer took a trip to the beach, basking in the warmth of the sun and the soothing sounds of the waves. We believe in companionship and engaging activities are essential for enhancing the quality of life for our clients.
Our carer of the month, Barbara Steel, exemplifies dedication and compassion in her role. She consistently goes above and beyond, providing exceptional care and making a profound difference in the lives of those she supports. Recognising our dedicated carers like Barbara is important because it celebrates their hard work and commitment to providing exceptional care to our clients.
Zoe is one of our lovely clients, and she had a wonderful day at the Garden Center with our Carer, Alisha. Zoe loves gardening, and during their trip, she picked out a variety of beautiful plants.
When they got back home, Zoe eagerly planted all the new plants in pots by herself. Zoe said, “I enjoy going out with Carers. I feel confident and safe with them.” Her words show the trust and comfort she feels with our carers, allowing her to do what she loves.
This story highlights how our carers at In Home Care make a positive difference in our clients’ lives by helping them enjoy their favourite activities and feel independent and happy.
