Training Centre Development
Our aim is that by autumn 2016 we will have a fully functioning ‘Health and Social Care Training Centre,’ with a big difference!
We don’t believe in only being lectured to in a classroom environment, we want interaction and participation by our trainees and trainers alike. People learn best when it is FUN, and this is our intention.
We already have an impressive boardroom for training and all the training equipment to facilitate teaching. However, in 2016 we are redeveloping our current reception area into a training room to include a bedroom / shower room. We will be fitting all the usual equipment we come across every day in our client’s homes.
There will be a hospital bed to train our carers the basics of using the controls, how to bed wash and keep clients feeling fresh whilst bedbound, even how to ‘make a bed properly.’ Hoists are in situ and we have our carers sitting in the slings as our clients do daily, so they can fully appreciate just how our client feels when this equipment is being used. We aim to have a shower installed to allow our carers to improve on their techniques whilst helping with personal care, again role play will help, especially with our younger carers, to understand just how vulnerable our clients may feel whilst receiving personal care.
We are passionate about improving our standards and that of the industry. We need to lead by example, and invest back into our workforce by improving the training we provide. We believe this will dramatically improve and have a positive impact on the health and welfare of our clients and our carers alike.

Introducing our NEW purpose built Training Centre. This includes a full size shower and hospital bed and all mobility aids so you can train & practice over and over until you are fully confident in all areas of care.
And, for those brand new to care, we have a new ‘basic personal skills’ care course, that teaches the basics of personal care to include catheter and stoma care, dignity and infection control.
New advances in care development mean new courses will be added throughout the year.
